Appcelator is mobile start-up , found 9\06 , that aimed to develop open source framework for developing mobile “native” apps with only knowledge of html , css & js ( e.g. : Compiling it to obj-c or java ). With 15m$ from Ebay , Larry Agustin & others they got awesome place on the market. TechCrunch , Mashable and others were writing and following every movement

Aptana that was founded about year later , became very popular by two products - Aptana ( standalone & plug-in for Eclipse ) + RadRails. It’s not a big secret, that most of front-end developers prefer lightweight IDE’s. RoR ( Ruby on Rails ) developershave same preferences. Aptana became popular very fast , though they didn’t real good way to make cash flow from community.
